  • Welcome

  • Review of Agenda

  • Norms

  • Dr. Mucetti
    • Introduced herself and thanked us for the work that we as teachers do.  Formula has produced a positive.  We will be receiving a 3.11% raise.
    • Her last year as a teacher she taught for Hayward Unified and they were on strike for 10 days and she didn’t once cross the picket line.  She was out there striking with all teachers.
    • We need our enrollment to increase.
    • Gayle and Dr. Mucetti have a standing bi-weekly meeting.

  • Total Compensation Increase
    • We can do a 3.11% all toward salary or we could do a 2.5% to salary and the rest to in-lieu (medical)
    • Mike Wilmarth gave a presentation explaining why we want to put the entire percentage toward salary.
    • If raise goes partly to healthcare premiums it won’t figure itself into the compound
    • The cap is not a set percentage towards our salaries.  Our formula is a total compensation formula (STRS, Salary, and Cap towards insurance)
    • An email will be sent from Gayle that will explain the difference between the 3.11% to salary schedule or 2.5% to salary with $75 going to healthcare cap
    • Historically our district has put all percentages toward the salary schedule
    • Mike will give Gayle the PDF that he created explaining the difference between all to salary schedule vs. some to salary and some to in-lieu so everyone can understand and make an educated decision
    • Site reps need to talk to their members regarding the choices so they can make educated decisions
    • We are looking into other healthcare options other than CalPers since they are so expensive.
    • Raise is retroactive back to Aug 1, 2018 we need to let them know by 10/1/18 so the raise will be reflected in our October pay
    • In lieu does not go to salary and doesn’t change what you would get when you retire

  • Standard Campaign
    • Update we are at 30 new members.  We need 50 to enroll in order for everyone with a pre-existing condition can get coverage
