- Shared that we are all in this together
- Meets with council once a month and then subcommittees meet
- Has been working with Gayle re: IBPS training getting it down to 1 day versus 2 as it has been in the past
- Jan 24 is tentative date for IBPS
- ECHO has been challenging the past couple of weeks
- ECHO update - principals were told to allow teachers to use Aeries gradebook until ECHO issues are solved
- Concern with whether or not the grades will be there when the switch is flipped back to ECHO
- Dave shared that nothing will take place until the end of the semester/trimester
- If ECHO is working then continue to enter grades, if not use Aeries and IT will provide support for those teachers that need refreshers
- Intent is to let ECHO demonstrate that it is the right platform. If problems continue Cabinet will look at whether or not we need to find a different platform.
- Seems current goal is to make ECHO work, not inquiry based learning work
- Instruction has to work
- District is giving ECHO a chance to make good, however there isn’t hesitation to explore new options to include Google Classroom
- We need to figure out what we need and then find out what programs will best meet our needs - is anyone checking to see what LMS system works best with Aeries?
- ECHO made promises that they weren’t able to fulfill
- Its not about the tool but the pedigogy - we have to start teaching that way
- Letter went to principals friday telling them to talk to staff members and make a plan.
