- CTA Initiatives - Michelle Washington
- 2 initiatives have been written we need to encourage our members to not sign petitions
- A voucher system that would cost districts $14,000 per student
- Eliminate collective bargaining rights
- Neither one of these have been qualified and ready to start collecting signatures. They have until April
- Michelle will give the names behind the initiative to Gayle and they will be posted on the website.

- NVEA Budget - Option A/B discussion
- Spent less than what we budgeted for in 2020-2021
- Discussion around sending members to the Good Teaching Conference January 28 - 30, 2021
- Corey Morton made a motion to triple the amount NVEA will pay per member and it was seconded by Jen Can
- A discussion was had regarding if you sign up to go and cancel out at the last minute the member is responsible for the amount that NVEA paid for the member to go or the member can find a replacement.
- All present voted in favor of the motion to triple the amount NVEA will pay for NVUSD members to attend Good Teaching Conference
- Corey Morton made a motion to triple the amount NVEA will pay per member and it was seconded by Jen Can
- Spent less than what we budgeted for in 2020-2021
- Bylaws - discussion
- Reviewed additions and changes to the bylaws
- Suggested that we postpone voting on the bylaws until site reps can take the bylaws back to the members at their site to digest and get input from their site members. All were in favor of postponing the vote until next meeting
- Clarification was asked for who determines what an emergency is
- We will vote on the bylaws at our next meeting which is 12/6/21

- We are an important group in getting the message out and understanding the needs of the facilities, the funding resources, and in CA the funding falls on the locals, not the state.

- 63% of NVUSD students attend schools that are 50 years or older
- Aging portables placed on campuses currently 30-40% of our students are houses 4,900 to 6,607 students
- 17 out of 27 school sites have HVAC systems over 20 years (63% of students 10,406)
- Daylighting and/or interior lighting is poor
- Basic Modernization - 78% (12,884) students currently attend schools that were modernized over 20 years ago
- Vision is to creating a safe and welcoming environment encourages the student to be present and positive
