- Welcome
- Review of Agenda
- Leadership Conference Discussion
- Had some really great things, but some not so great things
- Deb St. Clair gave her impression as a 1st time attendee. We are very lucky to work in this district. It doesn’t matter what district you talk to no one has anything nice to say about administration. We can only win if someone else looses.
- NVUSD talks with NVEA and we have a positive working relationship.
- Had some really great things, but some not so great things
- Norms - were reviewed that were drawn up at least 3 years ago
- Be on time - Respect time
- Stay Positive
- Silence phones
- Be present
- Equal air time
- One voice - we as an exec board might agree to disagree, but we give the same message and don’t bad mouth each other even if we disagree
- Level of confidentiality
- Checking for understanding
- Budget -Discussion
- We are looking into having an application process for our members to apply to Exec board to attend Good Teaching Conference
- We will also be looking into a grant through community projects
- Listening Calendar
- 2 schools done so far; Bel Aire and Vintage
- 3 main questions were asked with sticky notes provided for input so everyone feels heard
- Everything mentioned was very positive, people need master schedule training
- Concerns will be brought back to leadership through NVEA meetings w/admin.
- On 10/21/19 we will be at McPherson
- On 11/4/19 Napa High and American Canyon High School
- 11/21/19 Redwood Middle School
- At next site rep meeting we find something that works for our remaining sites
- Facilities Update -
- Gayle met with Mike Pearson on 10/17/19, busses are 52 per person because of seat belts
- California Fire code new Fire Marshal and Fire Inspectors. They are very serious because of problems that happened in Santa Rosa and Paradise
- California Fire code 807.5.2.3 law 50% of your walls covered or less. Has nothing to do what is inside the room, but what is on the walls.
- Something will be coming out from the district
- Someone came into classrooms and started pulling things off of walls. The teacher needs to notified as well as the principal given 24 hours to remove item or it will be moved for you.
- Multiple works orders have been put in and no repairs have been made it was suggested to continue
- Rocky Medeiros hired strictly for safety for technology and cameras works under Rob not Mike Pearson
- Maintenance and Operations are in three phases for fencing; phase 1 - design, phase 2 - elementary and middle school for fencing and signage, finishing kitchens 2 schools in construction, 2 more in state design approval and 2 in phase 3.
- Roofing Assessment has been completed
- Scheduling new roofs triaged over the next three years pending funding (deferred maintenance money)
- Gone out to bid for 8 fields (turf replaced over next 2 years) need to make sure fields are properly maintained
- Deferred maintenance went to paint at shearer and McPherson, carpet in some classrooms
- Quad at harvest is at the state for design approval
- There is a problem with the front building that currently houses River and nothing will be placed in that front building until seismic issues etc are addressed. Anything that was on the plan with Patrick is gone and will be revamped in the spring once school closures are done
- What the bond says isn’t necessarily what has been followed.
- Can communication be sent out informing members of where we are at as far as measure H and bond $
- Measure H stuff will come out again. Communication is the key!
