- Welcome
- NVEA Budget
- We will be voting on the budget today
- Questions:
- Meals line item - When council members were released during the school day, lunch was purchased for the teachers serving on council
- $800 for school visits and money for conferences. What happens to that money when it is not used?
- Idea of a budget is to set aside money to cover an expense. If money for a budgeted item doesn’t get used it stays in the general fund.

- Mary Duenow moved to accept the budget and Angelene Warnock seconded the motion. There being no further discussion a roll call vote was conducted. With 44 site reps and executive board members present all voted in favor of the budget.

- Council Update
- Survey Results -
- shared with council members there was an overwhelming response on roomers and zoomers and safety.
- Looking at a way to make the secondary schedule better and that phase 2 at secondary is working better than it currently is. Will be discussing possible changes
- shared with council members there was an overwhelming response on roomers and zoomers and safety.
- Survey Results -
- MOU - Elementary Class size overage signed
- Exec board discussed splitting elementary and secondary because we couldn’t move forward with secondary MOU like we could with elementary. Thus the need to revisit secondary MOU.
- MOU is to be over in virtual students not in person students. We would never put a teacher’s safety in jeopardy by adding more students than what NCPH warrants
- Exec board discussed splitting elementary and secondary because we couldn’t move forward with secondary MOU like we could with elementary. Thus the need to revisit secondary MOU.
- What’s on Tomorrow’s Agenda
- Culture survey - Project 54, how teachers are feeling more info provided at council
- MOU for secondary schedule adjustment can 5th grade teachers be included in the secondary discussion and consideration
- Roomers and zoomers
- In person numbers are dwindling daily, council teachers have asked to see data of in person students who have gone virtually. Data is available, however the report hadn’t been run at our last council meeting.

- Safety
- Schools aren’t the spreader of COVID and are safe however we aren’t seeing the students return
- Pact signed that you agreed to requirements in the pact you had a 3 strikes your out and in-person isn’t a fit, need clarification around the pact
- Schools aren’t the spreader of COVID and are safe however we aren’t seeing the students return
- Other concerns:
- Grades -
- making up credits, remediation, etc. possibility of offering more summer school options than what is currently being offered.
- Grading policy being optional was very helpful and needs to be continued
- Number of D’s and F’s are major concern especially with our higher achievers
- making up credits, remediation, etc. possibility of offering more summer school options than what is currently being offered.
- Testing of students in general for COVID
- Students are assumed COVID positive because they have a positive testing parent.
- Those are the students who should and need to be tested.
- Kids over the age of 13 are now being tested
- Numbers being given to media aren’t transparent
- We as teachers don’t have the right to ask that students be tested. The county has to track the contacts when someone tests positive, however if they live outside of Napa county their data isn’t included in overall cases for Napa however those numbers would be counted towards a 5% Napa school closure. Need more clarity. Can we ask for raw data?
- If you have a question around how numbers are being obtained please send email to NVEA CTA or to Gayle so we can take to council

- CTA Letter for Kaiser complaint
- Accommodations and what Kaiser has said and CTA’s response
- A generic letter for accommodations for COVID from Kaiser states reduce interactions and take precautions and is
- Kaiser Northern CA isn’t listing additional restrictions ie; health reasons etc. warranting the accommodation.
- CTA is looking into this and they are recommending that members fill out a complaint form if Kaiser is not giving you the information you need for the district to provide you a medical accommodation
