- Covid Leave
- CA gov. Has not yet released funding for COVID leave.
- NVEA has requested and in process with the District covered 5 days of leave. Retro to 1st of year.
- When the state comes back with any COVID leave funding will supplant the negotiation that is happening with the district.
- This MOU will be sent out sometime next week.
- CTA State council is pushing for 2 weeks at the state level

- Vaccination Mandate
- 140 employees in the entire district are not vaccinated.
- Vaccination mandate by Mar. 31st
- Goes to the board 1/20 - The following exemptions are state law and not in board policy.
- District Employees who aren’t vaccinated by Mar. 31st you will be put on unpaid leave. Condition of employment.
- Employees can make a request for exemptions must start ASAP
- Medical Exemptions - must go through interactive process
- Religious Exemptions - must go through interactive process
- Personal Belief - must go through interactive process

- These employees may have other expectations such as weekly or biweekly testing
- On Friday there will be messaging from NVUSD on this topic based on the results of the board.

- NVEA is in conversation with CTA and NEA about how to approach the county.

- Our CTA Representatives will be decreasing. Mike W term expires at the end of this year. Michael A is representing all of Napa County schools instead of just the NVEA.

- CTA Community Schools ($3 Billion investment from state) -Michael advocated for this to be a possible answer/compromise to the charter issue.

- Council will be going through all the changes and add in rationale for all the changes that are being made.
- Ratification of CBA timeline: Next week Council will finish this next Tuesday 1/25. Then, float the contract online all the contract language changes and rationale. This will be available for 10 days. During this time members will look at the changes and on the 31st of Jan. at the site meeting, paper ballots will be handed out for the ratification of the new contract. Then site reps will have 5 days for members to vote. Also, at the site rep meeting, announcement of open positions for all NVEA exec board.
- Ratification Timeline - January 27th sent out - 10 days is Feb. 6th. Vote begins Feb. 7th - 11

- Must have a receipt for reimbursement.
- This is for the engagement of your staff. Consider what engages the most of your staff.
- Keep in mind, COVID, keep in mind access to as many of your NVEA members receive the benefit of this engagement money. Be cautious of 1st come 1st served events that exclude members. Building community, promoting opportunities for your members to interact and engage your site members.
