  • Article 10 -Leaves
    • District sent out an email regarding high absence days and the people who are abusing the system.  There was a concern around the wording and tone of the letter.
    • 10.2.3 - discussed
    • 10.8 - personal necessity lists reasons and is part of your sick leave
    • No longer have discretionary personal necessity leave (CBA Article10.8.2)
    • Principal has a right to ask for a note regarding the absence (this is coming from HR)
    • If you are being told that you cannot be out due to sub shortage when a child is sick that is part of personal necessity and you should not be made to come in.  If this occurs, call Gayle immediately.
    • Substitute Pay Deduct Leave - if needing to take personal necessity leave for family wedding need approval form Principal and Asst. Director of HR if sub deduct is denied then take leave without pay.

        • G 5 was struck no reason for 2 people doing the same job

        • All directors lumped together

    • A motion was made by Debbie Kmiec and seconded by Manny Johnson to align the bylaws with CTA, the motion passed with a majority vote.

  • State Budget 
    • 6.56% COLA increase
    • 2 million on top of funding for prop 98
    • Will be using 3 year average of enrollment for funding
    • We will be getting a raise, not sure of amount yet
    • NVUSD has been awarded a $5.22 million community schools grant targeted for elementary schools (Snow, McPherson, Phillips, and Shearer)
  • NVEA Budget Committee
    • Meeting will be Monday, June 6, 2022 after school at NVEA office
  • Member Engagement
    • Site Funds spend by June 10, 2022
    • Need to submit an itemized receipt
    • Receipts need to be submitted by June 7, 2022
  • NVEA/NVUSD Council 
    • Stipends
    • Jun 7, 2022 meeting to draft interests

    • Tony Thurmond spoke
    • CTA - Napa Solano Labor council have election recommendations and they will be shared through personal email
    • A lot of information around community schools
      • New business item around community schools having an LGBTQ liaison
  • $400 stipend for being a site rep will be in our June check
  • Executive board point of contact for site reps
    • Don’t forget to include your Executive board point of contact in your Notes email to your members.
