  1. First Vice President/Chief Negotiator—Gayle Young:
  2. Negotiations:   Stipends, Salary Schedule, Workload, Budget/One Time Monies – Council update was emailed out but it only contained information about Workload.  Last Council meeting focused on generating interests and options around Workload for both elementary and secondary.  One time money agreement should be decided on this week; it will include a percentage going to employees, which is a direct result of NVEA negotiating for it.
  3. Directors-At-Large:
  4. Elementary—Laura Zinser:  Nothing to report at this time.
  5. Middle—John Burns, Benefits:  No report.
c.     High:  No representative.
  1. Director of Human Rights—Mary Duenow:  No report.
  2. State Council—Patty Wyman:  Linda and Patty go to next State Council April 8-10.
  3. Director of Communications—Mike Willmarth:  Workload committee still welcomes input regarding workload; email Mike, Linda, or Gayle.  Regarding communication, continue to encourage members to like our NVEA Facebook page.  If you have anything positive going on at your school site, email Mike a photo and brief explanation so he can post it on FB.
  4. CTA Update—Diana Lisi:
a.     Diana reiterated how different our district is from all other districts she’s worked with in regards to our Interest Based Problem Solving process and our Negotiations Council bargaining process; things go much more smoothly in NVUSD because of these processes (as opposed to the more traditional adversarial relationship and bargaining process that most other districts use).
b.     Discussion about Children’s Education and Health Care Protection Act of 2016.  To get it on the ballot, we need to collect signatures.  Site reps asked to take petitions back to sites to collect signatures; deadline is April 18.  Mike will email out a brief communication that we can share with our members to explain what this is all about.
11.  Eric Heins—CTA President:  Eric came and spoke about the current work and impact CTA is having on education issues across
the state.

Meeting Adjourned at 5:16 PM
Next Meeting:  April 25, 2016

Ginger Dunne
NVEA Secretary
