FAQ page
SLACK monitoring
- We need to take responsibility in being active with Slack and responding to comments either through email or phone call etc.
- Each of us monitor slack
- It was suggested that as we monitor Slack that we respond to concerns using our home email reinforcing the message that we are sending that we should not be using district server for NVEA issues.
Contentious points with plan
- Teachers want the choice to do distance learning at home or at school they want to have a choice
- We have teachers who really want to be in their classrooms and teachers who want to teach from home
- Rosanna wants a look that school is open and that everyone needs to be back in education and that teachers have a job
- Can we negotiate options with the showing up to work and we need to advocate for a choice for the distance learning portion.
- Once we go into Phase 2 then teachers will need to be on campus
- Training the first week of August is optional, however teachers will be paid
- The week that school starts will be training on safety
- CTA says we need a downturn of 14 days with no new cases
- Our turn around from Phase 1 to Phase 2 Rosanna said was 72 hours
- We need to negotiate what triggers the turn around
- Start with distance learning 8/20/20 through Labor Day with all teachers except those doing virtual learning academy being in the classroom
- Start with distance learning 8/20/20 through Labor Day with all teachers except those doing virtual learning academy being in the classroom
- District is really looking for in person learning to happen
- Review guidelines from Napa County Office of Ed (NCOE School Reopening Plan)
- We need to negotiate the exact matrix for each phase
- Teachers who choose to teach at home need strict accountability and teachers need to be live
- Teachers will be able to plan their own lessons, virtual academy will be more like a canned program with content being supplied by the online program
- Dana wants to have an interactive process to determine who teaches the virtual learning academy due to being high risk (need documentation), family member high risk (need documentation)
- We need to look at what our member are asking us to fight for
- Hybrid model will cause additional issues that need to be thought out
- Need more clarification around lunch for PM group
