- Welcome
- Schedule
- Courtney and Gayle met with Dana this morning
- 1, 2, 3 in the morning kids that come in person am group would be in person and in the afternoon we would have 4, 5, 6 and group b (pm kids) would attend in person and group 1 kids would attend 4, 5, 6 virtually
- No talk of the district going all virtual for a bit. We can’t negotiate
- We need to push phase 3 out as far back as we can
- St. Helena is full day and they have 90% of their kids attending
- We start back with our current schedule as is when we left school on December 18
- We need to determine if we use our current schedule or a tweaked schedule when we go into phase 3
- We need to send out a survey once the wednesday time is hashed out
- Asking our members is super important
- The schedule we are currently working on has us seeing all our kids 1-6 every day. Our current schedule (½ class in the morning ½ class in the afternoon with pm kids in person is our BATNA)
- We are not out of phase 2 yet and when we return on 1/11/21
- Some ideas that Gayle and Courtney had
- Every other wednesday be 1, 2, 3 and then the next wednesday would be 4, 5, 6 so you had the kids for a longer amount of time
- Kids would check in with their 1st period teacher and then they would break into smaller groups for more 1:1 instruction
- If we invite kids to attend small groups on wednesday and they don’t show up then it needs to be admin following up with students not teachers.
- If we invite kids to attend small groups on wednesday and they don’t show up then it needs to be admin following up with students not teachers.
- Conversation was had around doing away with the 25 min classes and all students check in with their 1st period teacher for attendance purposes and then kids would break out into study groups for intervention and reteaching
- Every other wednesday be 1, 2, 3 and then the next wednesday would be 4, 5, 6 so you had the kids for a longer amount of time
- There are concerns around unstructured group time on Wednesdays and all students checking in with their 1st period teachers since not all students have a 1st period class.
- The time spent with our 1st period students on wednesday would be very short long enough to take attendance
- Elementary teachers would question the accountability and a schedule has to be in place for equity purposes and elementary teachers would probably have an issue. There would be teachers who will take advantage of the empty spot with no kids
- Kids who don’t need intervention, what would they do and where would they go?
- Courtney and Gayle met with Dana this morning
- State Grant
- There is a grant for elementary that needs to be applied for. Funds come out of Prop 98
- Our district will receive approximately $7million.
- The encroachment on our general fund would be huge
- District will be looking at
- This has not been approved by the state legislature
- First initial budget will come out in 2 weeks
- Funding we have this year includes deferrals
- We are on a once a month COVID 19 testing. Identified staff members at each site are being trained as we speak
