- Welcome
- LCAP Presentation - Mary Anne Valles
- Treasurer Report -
- checking acct is balances and we have money no transfers needing to be made
- President’s Report
- District Budget Roadshow February 13 (NHS), 15(VHS), 21 (ACHS), 4:00pm please attend any and all and share with members so they know to attend also
- Budget presented at School Board Meeting
- $3.5million deficit to cut across the board input is needed,
- looking at district solvancy 71/2% is what district feels is solvant, state says 3%
- 2 1/2 % addition to the savings acct which is a one time funding, Gayle will be pushing back against this a lot in support of us.
- Gayle believes it should come to our employees not sit in a savings account waiting for a rainy day
- Interest is to keep as many positions as possible
- CEO is very conservative (Wade not Patrick)
- Gayle has concerns with another year with the same demographer
- Reserve is used for program developments, declining enrollments, they are redistributing the money
- The reserve was at 7% board was ok dipping in to it when they were short and they were fine dipping in to it to assist for careleess spending
- Gayle needs our support to get people and us to the road shows and Wade is the person to ask these questions of
- We need to be vocal about the reserve
- District is going to want input on what should and shouldn’t be cut
- Principals have already been listened to
- If we are short 100 students and yoiu need 4 less teachers the amt of money the students generate is much more than just loosing those 4 teachers
- 15 people in the district where $289 was not taken out of pay for year 2014 - as long as you are still employed by the district you can pay it over time not all at once - was a human error
- We need to talk as a union that MOU’s not be signed to go one student over because it ends up being more than 1 over until the new school is finished Donaldson Way will be overstaffed to accommodate for the overage
- New land is being purchased for Stone Bridge, need to be given a site just like any other school since they were already on a school site
- Money comes from Stone Bridge to occupy that site - their teachers are not part of our union and they make a lot less than us
- Budget talk is for Wade not Gayle
