- NVEA/NVUSD Council - Discussion
- 2020-2021 is the year to renegotiate our contract, however COVID has gotten in the way and we have spent the year negotiating COVID issues
- We only have a few more months left in the year and in our contract.
- Exec Board feels that our time in council would be better spent negotiating COVID issues, thus extending our contract through the 2021-22 school year where we can really focus on the contract and nothing else
- We don’t want to add additional stress on the system making sure our members have input and our focus currently is on COVID.
- We have a relationship with the district around MOU’s
- Would like more transparency around what council will be negotiating as far as the contract is concerned. A survey will be coming out later around concerns
- We negotiate the contract based on what is brought up by our members through the survey
- Contract negotiations comes from issues and concerns brought to us by our members
- Our contract has a lot of language that needs to be cleaned up.
- A question was brought up wondering if there was a place on the NVEA website that housed all the MOU’s that have been written. It should be on the district website under employee resources with all the MOU’s that have been written since 2018.
- This doesn’t extend any term of office of NVEA officers
- 2020-2021 is the year to renegotiate our contract, however COVID has gotten in the way and we have spent the year negotiating COVID issues
