- 122 (Approximate) temporary teachers in our district.
- Supplemental has been treated as a categorical fund. Supplemental is here to stay. We are fully funded. This is funding that won’t go away from us and this is permanent.
- Teachers who are backfilling need to be probationary permanent.
- Teachers that are funded through a magnet grant are still temporary.
- There will be no reduction in force. There is a possibility of reassignment (if numbers aren’t at a given site you might be reassigned since we are employees of NVUSD not a specific site.
- Teachers will be notified by March 15 if being moved to a different site. There is a transfer process. District will ask for volunteers and if no volunteers then they will look at credentialing, trainings, very last thing looked at is seniority. (under transfer under admin)
- If you have been transferred recently you can’t ordinarily be transferred 2 years in a row.
- ACA Audit
- Affordable Care Act has new laws around our insurance.
- Need marriage license from County. Everybody is on dental so everyone needs to bring in the information requested even if not on medical.
- They will look at the information that you provide them and the copies will be kept at the district not with American Fidelity.
- American Fidelity is bonded with the district to turn over the copies.
- You must show proof of other medical insurance.
- AF just needs to see your taxes to verify if you are married since there is no notification given when you get a divorce. No copy of that info will be taken.
- LCAP Presentation - Local Control Accountability Plan 2018-19 Mary Ann Valles Asst
- Eons ago we were funded by categorical funds and Jerry Brown changed that to the LCAP.
- Additional $$’s generated through unduplicated pupils (English Learners, Students who participate in Free & reduced Lunch, abd Foster Youth only counted once if fall in more than one category. Unduplicated dropped to 52%.
- Grade span adjustments added to base then supplemental and concentration grants are added (we don’t qualify for this).
- Govt has moved away from deciding for us how pots of money should be used.
- If kids who turn in the form don’t eat lunch that doesn’t count against us.
- If we had above 55% of students who qualified for Free & Reduced Lunch, we would get additional funding.
- We need to describe how we are going to use these dollars how we are going to increase services to those students (what are we doing how are we going to measure it).
- Current year LCAP $14,465,000. 2019-2020 LCAP will be written based on the strategic plan.
