- First Vice President/Chief Negotiator—Gayle Young:
- Negotiations: Stipends Committee working to make stipends more consistent. Salary Schedule working to adjust the schedule so there are no frozen cells, etc. Workload committee to present at Council meeting tomorrow. Main purpose of workload survey was not to bring about an immediate reduction in workload nor an extra increase in pay, but rather to bring administration’s attention to all teachers are doing and get them to realize the importance of not bringing on new initiatives and programs without being able to fully resource them (time, money, materials, etc.). Clarification around the district working with Schools by Design to explore prep time options at secondary level; elementary schools will also be looked at for prep time options at some point. Budget Committee meeting this week to discuss one-time monies coming to the district.

They have had focus groups with all stakeholder groups about what resources and information people want before they go to vendors. Email ideas to Kendal at kshomura@nvusd.org.
