- Site Rep Responsibilities
- Read through site rep responsibilities and male sure you are able to connect with members
- Site rep training for 1st time reps probably around the 2nd week of September

- Every 3 years we are able to have an open enrollment period for disability and life insurance with no physicals or medical questionnaire, need 40 employees to sign up new hires eligible as well.

- Usually does site visits, however they will be doing virtual visits this year
- Works after a 7 day waiting period, must use sick leave first, get $25 a day for every day you are out, gives you 75% of your paycheck tax free, guaranteed to get up to 75,000 worth of coverage without health questions this is the time to increase amount
- Can use disability benefits for anything you would use your paycheck for
- Get credit for PERS for disabilities that occur on or off the job, workman’s comp is 66% of your paycheck.

- Vaccines and Testing
- From CTA testing, vaccination or mandatory vaccinations are not a negotiated item
- If you have been given a directive by your administrator or district and you fail to do so, you are subject to disciplinary action. District has a very clear disciplinary action plan

- State of CA requires mask and proof of vaccination or Covid testing every week
- Testing sites will be available throughout the district at Napa High and Napa Junction.
- This will not be for all employees and if you fall into this category you will be notified individually to maintain confidentiality
- Currently only available for those employees who are not vaccinated
- If you are exposed, the CDC will track you down with information to get tested.
- Whole classes will no longer be completely shut down unless no one in your class is wearing masks
- Since August 77 cases of COVID in all of NVUSD (students, teachers, staff, etc.) and 46 were not at school, 5 were employees and 3 were NVEA members data as of 8/30/21 no transmission has taken place through the schools
- Anyone who is fully vaccinated is not on the testing rotation
- No information regarding boosters yet.
- If you have had COVID, you are considered unvaccinated unless you have had the vaccine
- N3 labs is doing the testing for the district at the district's expense during a teacher’s paid time, the test is a nasal swab. District will automatically get the results as long as it is the N3 labs doing the testing
- Every school’s front office staff has been informed on Covid protocol with students quarantining etc.

- For students who will be out ill for 3 to 15 days

- Matt Manning was working with the TOSA’s to create packets
- There is one packet per trimester for kids who are out for 10 days
- Only responsibility of the classroom teacher is when the packet is returned. Don’t have to grade the entire packet, but scan the packet and grade based on a rubric.
- BV teachers were told they had to make the copies and get the packet to the parents. It is the responsibility of the office staff NOT teachers.
- Packets aren’t relevant for special ed kids, the responsibility would fall on the case manager.

- Special ed received a copy from CTA from another district with the way credentials were being used wasn’t followed. This grievance was shared with TerriLynne.
- There will be a focus group run by Stephanie Solberg to look at different district programs and how it relates to NVUSD, what changes we need to make in regards to classes taught, caseloads, etc.
